If You Believe The Liberal Media, Liberal Media Bias Doesn’t Exist

Ever since reading that Michelle Obama presented an award at the Oscars, I’ve been thinking about all the people who claim there is no liberal media bias. Why can’t they see it? Why doesn’t it strike them as odd that democrat party officials keep showing up at celebrity award ceremonies? I started thinking back to the time before I transitioned from a lifelong democrat to the truth-seeking conservative that I am now.

Back then, I didn’t really care about what was going on. I just wanted to be entertained. The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart was my source of “news”. I understand why low-information voters believe he is unbiased because I did too. He appears to defend republicans once in a while, just like Bill O’Reilly (of Fox News) does with democrats. They do it just often enough to appear unbiased, but they aren’t. Once you start to seek information from many sources, you will have the full picture of each issue and tactics like theirs will be easy to see.

One of the complaints people like me have with our President is that he avoids press conferences and hard-hitting news interviews, but makes the rounds of entertainment shows like no other President has ever done. He does this to appeal to the low-information voters because, in all honesty, it would be impossible for him to appeal to anyone who is well informed on the issues. He even goes out of his way to lend credibility to these entertainment shows…
White House: Jon Stewart ‘more substantive’ than other media outlets

Even worse than promoting entertainment shows as a good source of information, our President tells us not to get information from a particular source. This should raise a big red flag, but most seem to drink the Kool-Aide without question. This is from one of the most liberal blogs on the internet…

“Obama says Fox News ‘destructive’ for U.S. growth” Daily Kos

It wasn’t that long ago when I believed Fox News was as evil as republicans… both ideas drilled into my head by the liberal media; but I have never seen a US President join in on this strange branding of those who disagree with democrats. If you don’t hear alarm bells going off in response to that claim made by our President, you need to read some history books.

Let’s take a look at just a couple reasons why democrats might want you to avoid watching Fox News, shall we?

Media Blackout: Aside from FOX, Sunday News Hosts Fail to Raise Benghazi
“The mainstream media’s silence on the Benghazi disaster reached deafening levels on Sunday, as hosts of four out of the five major news shows–with the exception of Fox News Sunday–failed to raise the issue. Only Bob Schieffer of CBS gave it serious consideration, and only after it was raised by Sen. John McCain.”

Van Jones resignation, Mainstream media ignored, Glenn Beck and Fox covered, Real story, September 6, 2009, MSM bias, Van Jones radical communist
“Observers had been predicting Jones’ departure after word spread that Jones signed a 2004 petition supporting the so-called “9/11 Truther” movement; that he was a self-professed communist during much of the 1990s; that he supported the cop-killer Mumia abu-Jamal; that in 2008 he accused “white polluters” of “steering poison into the people of color communities”; that he was affiliated with an anti-American publication called “War Times” from 2002 to 2004; that in 2005 he said, “You’ve never seen a Columbine done by a black child”; and that earlier this year he called Republicans “a–holes.” When controversy erupted, Jones apologized for the “Truther” episode and his remarks about the GOP.”

NPR’s Glaring Double Standard Begs the Question: Is Juan Williams the Next Shirley Sherrod?
You can find liberal analyst, Juan Williams, on Fox News as a regular contributor; but after ten years with NPR, he no longer works there. He tells you why…

Mr. Williams is the author of Muzzled: The Assault on Honest Debate

After much thought, I’ve come to the conclusion that the reason so many people don’t see the liberal media bias is because they obediently avert their eyes from it. I didn’t watch the only television network that allows the conservative side of the debate when I was a democrat either. Why? I was trained not to by the rest of the media. While the entertainment industry is full of liberals, conservatives do have one comedian known for his political commentary. He explains why media bias is so hard for many to see…

“To quote Madge from Palmolive [commercials], ‘You don’t see it my dear, because you’re soaking in it.’” – Greg Gutfeld

I just wanted to add that Greg Gutfeld is not the only conservative comedian. Amongst those not mentioned in this blog post is Victoria Jackson, author of Victoria Jackson’s Is My Bow Too Big? How I Went from SNL to the Tea Party Autobiography.
